Who We Are

The Menlo Park Neighborhood Association is a group of neighbors, homeowners, property owners, renters, and business owners who work together to address common concerns, create positive change, and enact improvements in the neighborhood on issues such as safety, beautification, and development.  A primary function of the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association is to maintain open and frequent communication with the City, County, and other entities such as developers who have the power and ability to significantly impact the neighborhood through development, services, and funding. The Menlo Park Neighborhood Association is registered as a neighborhood association with the City of Tucson.

You are a member of the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association if you live in the neighborhood as a homeowner or renter, or if you own property or a business in the neighborhood.  There are no dues to be a voting member of the association, and neighborhood association meetings are open to everyone.  Your participation is voluntary, and everyone is welcome at meetings.

The Menlo Park Neighborhood Association is NOT a homeowner’s association. Membership is not mandatory, we do not charge any dues for participation, and MPNA does not have any legal authority to enact or enforce maintenance or design standards in the neighborhood above and beyond those set by City ordinance.

How does the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association serve its community?

• By holding regularly scheduled neighborhood meetings, sharing news and information about events and developments in the neighborhood, and by continued open communication and advocacy with the City of Tucson, Ward 1, and other governmental and agencies and power brokers on behalf of the neighborhood.

Who runs the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association?

• Neighbors elect seven people to serve on the MPNA Executive Board every year. Any member of the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association is eligible to run for an office on the Board. Meet the Board.

When and Where does the MPNA meet?

• Meetings take place on the second Thursday of each month, at 6 PM and they take place in the cafeteria or courtyard of the Menlo Park Elementary School, 1100 W. Fresno St. with an online/hybrid option available most months. 

How are decisions made in the MPNA meetings?

• Board members or neighbors bring issues of concern to the meeting, either in person or by email to the MPNA Board president. Neighbors and Board members listen to each other and discuss.  Menlo Park Neighborhood Association members may then identify actions to take or possible solutions, and then vote in an open, transparent, and democratic process.
