Good evening neighbors,

Since the December Rio Nuevo meeting, the Rio Nuevo board has continued to consider the issue of placing the dredged Santa Cruz material on top of the A-Mountain Landfill. There has been a recent development late this week that we wanted to make you aware of.

Geotechnical engineering firm GeoTek is applying for a Brownfield Cleanup Grant on behalf of Rio Nuevo for the A-Mountain Landfill, and will be holding an informational meeting about the grant proposal on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Pima County Housing Center located at 801 West Congress Street. The meeting will begin at 3pm.

Big picture, this is part of potential funds and monies from different grantors and jurisdictions under consideration for cleaning up portions of the landfill.
